This application is for Artist - 6’ Sidewalk Space

  • *If you are a Packaged Food Vendor, please fill out the Packaged Food Application (coming soon) and not this one.
  • Vendor Fee: $75
    1. Payment is required upon acceptance.
  • Space are exactly 7’ wide x 5’ deep
  • One 6’ table will fit, so please check the size of the table you are bringing.
  • Please note that there are very few sidewalk spaces available.
  • Tents are not allowed on sidewalk spaces - if you require a tent, please complete the Artist Application - 10’ Street Space

All applications must be submitted electronically. Although stART on the Street is not a juried event, we carefully review all artist applications to ensure they adhere to the Handmade Pledge before making the final decisions. To ensure a diverse range of mediums and offerings, each genre has a cap. Applying early increases your chances of acceptance.

Time: 11:00 am to 6:00 pm

Location: Park Ave between Pleasant Street and Highland, Worcester, MA

General Guidelines

  1. By applying, you are committing to both the September 15th date and the September 22nd rain date.

  2. Payments
    1. Payment will be due upon acceptance.
    2. Forms of payment accepted: PayPal or check
  3. Booth Spaces
    1. Sidewalk Spaces are 7’ wide x 5’ deep.
    2. Sidewalk spaces will accommodate a 6’ table only and not an 8’ table.
    3. Up to 2 artists may share a sidewalk space.
    4. Each artist sharing a space must fill out an individual application. No exceptions.
    5. There is a field on the application to indicate if you are sharing a space.
  4. Vendors Responsibilities
    1. All artists are responsible for bringing their own tents (if applicable), tables, and chairs.
    2. stART does NOT provide tents, tables, chairs, or electricity for artist spaces.
  5. Things not allowed in Artist’s Space.
    1. Generators of any kind.
    2. Live or amplified music.
    3. Open flames, for example; candles, propane torches, etc.
  6. Acceptance/Denial Notification
    1. Acceptance/Denial Notification will be sent to the email you enter on this application.
    2. Notifications will come from Samantha [at] startonthestreet.org.
    3. If you haven’t received a response by the acceptance/denial deadline, please check your spam or junk mail folder in the email you used to apply.
    4. Spaces will be assigned on the morning of the event.
    5. Event organizers reserve the right to reject any application at their discretion.
  7. Handmade Pledge
    1. ALL arts/crafts for sale must be handmade by the artist selling the items at the event.
      1. The vendor may only sell goods that they have created themselves.
      2. Selling goods made by other artists who are not the vendor or items with licensed or trademarked images are not allowed. (ex, NFL logos, Disney characters, etc).
    2. If event organizers find any of these items at your booth, you will be asked to remove them or leave the event.
  8. Liability
    1. stART on the Street highly recommends that ALL vendors have insurance coverage.
    2. stART on the Street, a program of Creative Hub Worcester, will not be held responsible for any theft or damage to artists’ work or personal property.
    3. It is the responsibility of booth artisans to ensure adequate coverage through their respective insurance providers.
    4. Neither stART on the Street, a program of Creative Hub Worcester, nor its affiliates, including employees, members, volunteers, directors, coordinators, or insurance providers, assume financial responsibility for any losses or damages incurred during the entire festival hours.
  9. Security
    1. stART on the Street prioritizes the highest security measures throughout the festival. However, given the expansive scale and unrestricted public access, we ask that all booth artists remain vigilant regarding the safety of their products and personal belongings.
  10. Our Pledge
    1. We see you. We hear you. We appreciate you and will continue to offer Start on the Street for free, just as we have for the past 20 years. If you are interested in sponsoring, please reach out to Laura [at] creativehubworcester.org.
    2. A key element of our mission is to elevate the voices and experiences of historically marginalized groups to highlight the current and historical diversity of our city and region. We welcome and celebrate artists and community members who identify as Black, Indigenous, POC, LGBTQIA+, refugee, immigrant, or persons living with a disability.
