stART at the Station Returns to Union Station

Worcester’s only all-handmade holiday shopping festival encourages all to buy local

WORCESTER MA – November 28, 2016 – stART on the Street brings its 11th annual holiday-themed market to Worcester’s Union Station on Sunday, December 4, from 9am – 5pm.

As with all stART events, artists and crafters create only handmade goods. stART Co-Director Tina Zlody said the event will include many returning artists, such as ETurn Wood Art, C.A.S. Handmade and Twigs and Heather, and is also hosting new-to-stART businesses, such as Scott Erskine Photography, PinMail Gear, Pop Zoo, and Sweet Kitchen & Bar, which will have cakes. Wares range from textiles, pottery, paintings, stained glass, and fine jewelry to photography, pet wares, holiday cards, edible items, ornaments and more. A full list of artists is available at stARTontheStreet.org, as well as stART on the Street’s Facebook Fan Page.

From 9am to 11am, a $15 donation gives shoppers a first pick of the variety of unique and handmade wares, a reusable shopping tote and shopping with lighter crowds. Though entrance after 11am is free, donations to help stART’s September and December events remain free are encouraged.

Union Station’s restaurants will offer a full bar and a light menu during the event. Luciano’s Cotton Club, inside Union Station’s Grand Hall, will also host a football lounge, so shoppers won’t have to choose between buying local and watching the Patriots at 1pm.

Parking is available at the Union Station garage and for free in area municipal lots, and there is an ATM on site. Coat check will also be available in the lobby.

stART at the Station is sponsored in part by the WOO pass, be sure to stop by the Cultural Coalition table and check in to the event for double WOO points!
