11am - 6pm • Rain Date: 9/27 • Park Avenue, Worcester, MA

Performance is a highlight of stART on the Street continues to grow year after year. The September flagship festival traditionally hosts three stages of live, local music, through individual curation or band-submitted applications. In 2018, stART has added a Youth Stage, for a total of four stages. In addition to the stages, street performers entertain large crowds on the street, and buskers can be found at various points around the festival.

  • Ricciuti Stage

Located in a natural amphitheater just off Park Avenue in Elm Park, this stage is dedicated to the memory of Worcester musician and stART friend Scott Ricciuti, who passed away in 2012. On this stage, we typically host our biggest and loudest acts, with room for the audience to dance or sit in the grass and enjoy.

  • World Music Stage

Central Massachusetts is home to people from all over the world, and each year we aim for a diverse offering at this stage, located next to JN Phillips on Elm Street. From jazz to Latin, classical to choral, and rap to rock, attendees every year have the opportunity to discover an eclectic range of music and performances.

  • Park Grill Stage

Located at 257 Park Ave, Park Grill is a more intimate venue, hosting an outdoor beer garden with some of the best singers/songwriters in the area. Music programmed at this stage tends to be softer than at other stages, making it an ideal spot to relax during the festival before getting back on your feet. Must be 21+ to drink – IDs are checked at the entrance but the restaurant and garden itself is open to all ages.

  • Youth Stage – NEW for 2018

Our belief at stART has long been that talent knows no age. For the past few years, we’ve hosted a Youth Market, giving teens an opportunity to share their art while practicing the business side of creativity. We’re excited to expand our belief in young creators to music this year, with a full day of college-aged and younger musicians tearing up the stage at the Highland Street end of the festival.

  • Street Performance

It takes a special person (or people) to make an empty space engaging using little more than their voice, their body, and a couple props. stART’s Street Performers captivate hundreds of people at once with acrobatics, juggling, and some pretty impressive crowd work. Keep some cash in your pocket for these folks – they work for tips and they’ll earn it!

  • Buskers

There’s just something classically romantic about walking down the street and finding someone playing an instrument. It might be a song you like, or a musical style that puts you in a good mood, or the unexpected treat of music on a stoop that speaks to the vibrant character of an area. Regardless, we love the buskers who join stART each year to share their talents with the city.
